Ray Freeman-Lynde

Associate Professor

Ray Freeman-Lynde is an Associate Professor at the University of Georgia. He is the author of more than 15 research publications that focus on the evolution of carbonate platforms at passive continental margins, especially erosional processes causing retreat of the original Mesozoic platform edge and diagenesis of original shallow-platform facies in deep-marine water fluxing into the platform from the eroded margins, and continental shelf sedimentation processes, specifically the interaction of tidal & storm energy with bathymetric features of the Georgia coast & redistribution of relict/palimpsest sediments shoreward. Dr. Freeman-Lynde currently teaches courses on dinosaurs and their flying contemporaries, the pterosaurs.
